Hike at Van Buskirk Preserve
Located along the beautiful Cranberry Creek, this 86-acre preserve is a hidden gem. Cranberry Creek is protected as an Exceptional Value cold water fishery, home of native brook trout. The trail takes in the remains of an early 20th-century farm, stone walls, and orchards.
This hike, at times, can be strenuous with rocky, wet conditions and potential for climbing over and crawling under fallen trees. Appropriate footwear and a walking stick are recommended. Don’t forget water and a light snack!
Cost: FREE to attend, but registration is required. Directions will be provided leading up to the event via email.
The Brodhead Watershed Association’s Get Outdoors Poconos series is supported by funding from the William Penn Foundation.
