2024 BWA Ramble

BWA’s Annual Ramble event is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This year, our location is at the ForeEvergreen Nature Preserve and Brodhead Creek Heritage Center.

The ForEvergreen Nature Preserve in Stroud Township is a protected area dedicated to conserving natural resources and providing recreational and educational opportunities for the community. This preserve serves as a natural hub connecting people with the land and water, fostering environmental stewardship and appreciation. It features various ecosystems, walking trails, and areas for wildlife observation, promoting outdoor activities and environmental education.

The preserve is also home to the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center, which provides office space for BWA, the Pocono Heritage Land Trust (PHLT), and PennFuture. The Heritage Center includes an art gallery, a small museum with exhibits on local history, and serves as a space for the community to gather for educational events, workshops, and presentations that focus on community engagement, outreach, and efforts to preserve and protect land and water throughout Monroe County.

Program details will be forthcoming! But we have an amazing day of activities and education planned with our friends and partner organizations. We will be joined by:

  • Eric Baird and Ann Foster of the Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited
  • Brittney Coleman from the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center
  • Don Miller – Educator, Naturalist, and Environmental Advocate
  • Charlie Kelshaw from the Monroe County County Conservation District
  • Abby Jones, Esq. from PennFuture
  • Keith Robinson, Geologist
  • Darryl and Jackie Speicher – Bird Experts, Naturalists, and Educators
  • Our Streamwatch Coordinator, Edie Stevens, and members of the Streamwatch Program
