Two BWA Members honored at Northeast PA Environmental Partners Dinner

Former BWA President, Don Miller, and current BWA Board member, Tim Herd, were honored at the annual Northeast PA Environmental Partners dinner on October 14.  Tim is currently Executive Director of the Stroud Region Open Space and Recreation Commission.  Don is technology instructor at Clear Run Elementary School.  Both were honored for their work  protecting the environment in the Pocono region.

Let Us Promise You a Rain Garden

Two rain gardens were successfully installed in Stroudsburg on September 27,  the first day of real rain in three months.  The gardens captured and held the rain well.  Three days later, when hurricane Nicole hit, 6 inches on rain didn't faze the gardens.

Teacher, Board Member, Bob Labar Recognized

Bob LaBar, a new member of the BWA Board in 2009, was recently honored by the Monroe County Conservation District Environmental Education Center as Conservation Educator of the Year. Additionally, he was also named as Intermediate Level Teacher of the Year for the East Stroudsburg Area School District.
