Donate to support the Stroudsburg "Urban Nature Space"

BWA is accepting donations for the Stroudsburg Pocket Park at the corner of Quaker Alley and Sixth Street, currently the site of dumpsters and loading areas. This "Urban Nature Space," a collaboraton between Stroudsburg Borough and the Monroe County Commissioners, will provide a green oasis for dowtown office workers and nearby residents.  The project will also show how the full corner lot can be developed into a green outdoor space in the future.

The  landscape design by Robin Petras, designer at Strauser Nature's Helpers, features native flowers, grasses, shrubs, and shade trees, along with paths and seating. Rain gardens and permeable pavers will demonstrate how green infrastructure can help clean and purify run-off from streets and sidewalks before entering the nearby Brodhead Creek and storm drains.

The 30- by 30-foot portion of space set aside for this project will be a demonstration of how the entire half-acre parcel can eventually be used by the county. Your sponsorship donation will be used for installation costs as well as a maintenance plan to ensure the initial Nature Space remains beautifully intact.

River Birch Sponsor: $3,000
Pussy Willow Sponsor: $2,000
